Inmate Funds
Should inmates be required to “work” for their meals and beds? Should there be a system in which inmates who do the most work get the nicest cells? Should inmate costs not be funded by citizen tax money?

I believe that inmates should not be given a “free ride” and should be required to work for necessities just as free citizens are. Instead of relying on tax money to support inmates’ cost, there should be a more sophisticated system of work-force by the jail/prison to support them.
Somehow, inmates should be given the option of working in productive jobs for low pay, but this pay is used to decide how “nice” of a cell they get. Those who do the most work get the nicest cells, food, etc.
This should not take jobs away from free citizens, therefore only jobs that fit the requirements should be used.

This is one industry that we should have outsourced overseas a long time ago. Siberia anyone?

haha. That is a great idea. I’m not sure how willing another country would be to take our unwanted people into their own, but if it were possible, it may be a novel idea.
